Rochester Hills Opens Rope Bridge At Innovation Hills

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — Adventure seekers can now explore another part of Innovation Hills in Rochester Hills thanks to a new rope bridge.

The much anticipated rope bridge spans the Clinton River, giving parkgoers access to the 48-acre Innovation Hills Green Space, which is the city’s largest and highest quality green space.

The space also features an unpaved half-mile trail loop that allows walkers to fully immerse themselves in the unique habitat and diverse vegetation.

The 112-foot-long suspension bridge is located in the back of the park near the Turtle Trail, roughly a half-mile walk from the park entrance. It stands over 20 feet tall and was built using a combination of steel cables, rope and wood. It is also the only pedestrian suspension bridge in the metro Detroit area.

“The new rope bridge at Innovation Hills is a thrilling addition to Michigan’s premier park and unlocks even more of our beautiful green space for residents and visitors to enjoy,” Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan K. Barnett said. “This is yet another testament to our commitment to creating unique and exciting experiences in our parks.”
