Norwalk Bob's Store To Close Sunday, New Combo Store Will Open In May
NORWALK, CT — Clothing and footwear retail chain Bob’s Stores will officially shut down its store at 380 Main Avenue this weekend, however a new store is set to open in town later this spring.
Kevin Campbell, the store’s executive vice president of operations, said in an email Friday the Main Avenue store’s last day of operation will be Sunday.
“The store is running a special final days discount of 20 percent to 80 percent off of everything in the store,” Campbell said, “a great time for shoppers to find some great deals on quality Bob’s Stores products.”

The closure was first announced back in August, however Campbell noted at that time the Main Avenue store would remain open for several more months. Since then, the store has advertised a number of “store closing” sales.
Campbell also noted Friday a new combination Bob’s and Eastern Mountain Sports store is scheduled to open in a couple of months.

“We are excited to share that the new Bob’s Stores and Eastern Mountain Sports flagship location in Norwalk is currently scheduled to open in May,” Campbell said.
Last year, Campbell said the Norwalk store was planned to open at 542 Westport Avenue in a space formerly occupied by Bed Bath and Beyond before the store shut down last spring.

“This location’s unique shape, featuring two entrances and a shared back-of-house space, make it perfectly suited for a Bob’s Stores and Eastern Mountain Sports combination store,” Campbell said back in August.
Campbell also said at that time the Main Avenue store’s shutdown would not result in job losses.
“We plan to relocate all our existing staff to the new location,” Campbell said. “In addition, we will be hiring additional management and staff for the Eastern Mountain Sports component.”
When the new store opens, customers can expect to find a wide selection of great brands at affordable prices from Bob’s Stores, along with the high-quality and affordable outdoor gear Eastern Mountain Sports is known for, Campbell said.
Bob’s frequently offers a variety of affordable clothing brands at discounted or on-sale prices, as well as a wide selection of footwear products.
The Main Avenue store also has a small section devoted to sports jerseys and memorabilia from a wide variety of teams and leagues.
The Main Avenue store’s normal hours of operation for Saturday are 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Sunday hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
