Leicester City turned down the chance to sign new Manchester United defender Alex Telles, according to reports.
Telles has made a good impression playing across Europe over the years for the likes of Galatasaray and Porto.
The left-back joined Porto for around €6.5m in July 2016. He has been an ever-present for the Portuguese giants over the past four seasons.

He has made just short of 200 appearances for Porto during his time at the club. Arguably his best season to date came during the 2019/20 season. The defender scored 13 goals from his 49 appearances in all competitions.
Man Utd had a busy transfer deadline day, confirming four new signings. Edinson Cavani, Amad Diallo, Facundo Pellistri and Telles were brought in before the European window closed.
The Red Devils had been chasing a new left-back for most of the summer. They eventually agreed on a deal to sign Telles for around £15m.
But Man Utd’s new player could have easily ended up at a different Premier League club this summer. The Athletic have reported that Leicester City said no to a move for Telles earlier this window.

The report adds that Brendan Rodgers’ side were ‘presented with an opportunity’ to purchase Telles. But they instead decided to pursue a deal for Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne.
The full-back joined the Foxes for a fee of around £21m, and he has immediately hit the ground running in the Premier League.
Leicester have made two further signings this summer. French youngster Wesley Fofana joined for around £31m from Ligue 1 side Saint-Ettiene, while winger Cengiz Ünder signed on loan from Roma.
