Concord Wins Challenge Matches, Salem Wins Junior Varsity Rumble: Wrestling Results

CONCORD, NH — Salem bested six other schools at the Concord High School JV Rumble on Saturday, while Concord won on points in challenge matches between Concord, Noble of Maine, and Salem.

Salem racked up 122 points in the JV matches to win the tourney. Concord came in second with 85. Noble edged out Keene by a point (63 and 62), while Goffstown scored 57. Monadnock scored 2 points.

Weight A: Jameson O’Brien of Salem place third while Landon Middlemiss of Salem came in fourth.

B: Tyler Baldridge of Salem came in first while Mykel Walters placed second for Salem.

C: Trevor O’Brien of Salem placed first while Lukas Sanchez of Salem came in third.

D: Isaiah McClay came in second for Concord while Kaydence Stadnyck of Salem placed third and Anna Rose Quist of Concord came in fourth.

In the challenge matches, Concord scored 54 points while Noble posted 48 points. Salem had 17.

E: Jacob Haibowicz of Salem came in second while Devin Rivera of Concord placed fourth.

F: David Chandler of Salem came in first while Dominic Schinella of Concord placed fourth.

G: Ramon Reynolds of Conocrd placed second while Kolton Cassano of Salem came in third.

H: Luis Caquias of Salem placed third.

I: Jeremy Richard of Concord placed first and Devin Barcomb of Salem came in fourth.

J: CJ Goss of Salem came in first, Matt Routhier of Salem placed second, and Sulas Ruff of Concord came in fourth.

K: Jewry Nunez of Salem came in second while Nolan Levesque of Concord came in third.

L: Logan Jenista of Concord came in second while Matt Pucci and Alex Bryant, both of Salem, placed third and fourth.

M: Lucas Rodrigues of Salem came in second while Brandon Tavarez of Salem came in fourth.

N: Joseph Havens of Salem placed second while Davien Dionne and Riley Jenista, both of Concord, came in third and fourth.

O: Ryley Holt of Concord came in first and Jeff Riordon of Concord came in fourth.

P: Kevin Kreku of Concord came in second while Owen Harris placed fourth for Salem.

Q: Damon Corbett of Concord placed first, Jacob Breau of Concord came in second, and for Salem, Jack McElroy and Liam Sweeney, placed third and fourth.

George Bossi Memorial Tournament

Hundreds of wrestlers from nearly 70 schools participated in the 2024 George Bossi Lowell Holiday Tournament at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA.

For High School Boys, Shawsheen Valley Technical High School won the tourney with 222.5 points, followed by Fairfield Warde High School in Fairfield, Connecticut, and Haverhill High School. New Hampshire high schools participating included Keene, which came in 11th, Salem, which came in 17th, Concord, which placed 25th, and Portsmouth was 33rd. Bow came in 39th, Windham was 40th, Bedford 41st, and Manchester Memorial was 43rd. Nashua South came in 45th and Milford 51st.

Evan Lynch of Salem came in fourth in the 120-weight bracket, while Carter Kuhn of Portsmouth placed sixth. Spencer Buscema of Salem came in seventh in the 126. In the 150-pound bracket, Ben Byrne of Nashua South came in fifth, while Caden Smith of Salem placed seventh. Bedford’s Tucker Watson came in sixth in the 165. Shayne Mackey of Alvirne came in fifth, while Merrimack’s Rhys Dewar, wrestling for Central Catholic, came in seventh in the 175. Gavin McConnell of Bedford came in fourth in the 215, while Shawn Boudreau of Alvirne came in fifth. Jackson Meehan of Merrimack placed sixth, wrestling for Central Catholic, and Elijah Wales of Milford came in eighth. In the 285, Evan Ray of Keene placed fourth, while Yane Gutierrez-Sakakeeny of Concord came in sixth. Jayden Kuilan of Manchester Memorial came in eighth.

For High School Girls, Bedford came in second with 94.5 points, Pelham came in sixth, Salem ninth, Keene placed 23rd, Alvirne 28th, Concord 30th, and Manchester Memorial 35th.

Oliver Greer of Keene placed third, and Ella Paris came in fifth in the 100-pound category while Yashi Bajpai of Bedford came in third in the 107. Grace Kenna of Bedford placed third in the 114, while Jenhedy Mendez for Salem came in sixth. For Pelham, Liz Donovan placed first in the 126, while Isabelle Boisvert of Bedford came in fifth. Keira Lynch of Salem placed second in the 132, while Brielle Egan of Pelham was third, and Audrey Shaw of Bedford came in fourth. Carly High of Bedford placed first in the 138. Katelynn Zannoni of Pelham came in fourth in the 152. Jillian Boncore for Alvirne placed third in the 165, and Madison Beauregard of Concord came in second in the 185.

Exeter Wins At Winnisquam Quad

Exeter wrestlers bested Winnisquam at a quad Saturday, 48 to 31.

Luke St. Onge in the 285 weight category, Reid Grandmason in the 113, Nicholas Darby in the 144, Aidan Shaw at 150, Tyler Niemi at 157, Ryan Mikulsky at 165, Avery Niemi at 175, and Caleb Sturtevant at 215 all by fall.

Other Tournaments

Londonderry held its holiday tournament on Saturday with Manchester, Souhegan, Winnacunnet, and other schools in New Hampshire and Maine, but only some results were available.

Londonderry also competed in the Beast of the East 2024 Tournament in Delaware.

Milford participated in the Big Red Tournament, but no results were available.

Bedford, Bishop Guertin, Manchester West, Merrimack, and Nashua North participated in the Nor’easter Invitational, but no results were available.
