ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst man got onto a city forestry truck and then pushed a city employee, with the man’s sister as a witness, police said.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of July 16 in the 200 block of East North Avenue, which officers listed as Velasquez’s address, police said.
Velasquez’s sister told police that her brother left the house, but she did not know why. Outside the house, she saw Velasquez on the truck, telling the city crew, “I am getting off. Move, move, move,” police said.

His sister said Velasquez then pushed one of the city employees in his attempt to get off the truck, according to the report.
The 36-year-old employee told police that he ordered Velasquez, who was shirtless, to get off the truck.
The worker pinned Velasquez to the tailgate, repeating the order. Velasquez charged at him, which prompted the employee to pin Velasquez to the ground until police arrived, the report said.
The worker said he wanted to press charges.
A bleeding Velasquez was taken to the hospital, with an officer riding along.
Velasquez was visibly upset and frustrated, telling the officer, “I’ll kill your ass,” according to the report.
His father, who was not home at the time of the incident, later told police that Velasquez was facing a domestic battery charge, the report said. Velasquez was under court order not to be at the house in the 200 block of East North Avenue, police said.
