Joliet Restaurant Bites The Dust: Jimmy K's Fails To Make It
JOLIET — A Joliet fast-food restaurant that relied upon Interstate 80 traffic to succeed has closed for good. The Jimmy K’s Handcrafted Burgers was located in an obscure location, hidden behind the thriving McDonald’s fast-food restaurant facing Houbolt Road.
The address for Jimmy K’s was 1422 Riverboat Center Drive, near the Rock Run Business Park. At the time of its demise, the Jimmy K’s averaged 4.3 stars out of 5 stars for its Google Reviews, racking up a total of 420 reviews over the years.
The Jimmy K’s dinner menu featured a gyros plate, fried chicken tenders and also spaghetti and meatballs. There was a hamburger and a double hamburger and street dogs such as the Maxwell Polish, Polish sausage and a chili cheese dog.

The last seven Google Reviews all gave Jimmy K’s a perfect five stars.
“Great food, but most of all great service. Krista, the young lady working during rush lunch hour did a tremendous job taking orders, serving and picking up the place as people came and went. She was working hard and being very kind. She handled the stress like a champ,” the last reviewer posted.
