Knights Of Columbus Donates $20,000 To Local Charities

DUBLIN, CA — The Fr. John C. Murphy Council of the Knights of Columbus donated $20,000 to local charities and hosted a free breakfast Sunday at St. Raymond’s Moran Hall in Dublin.

Santa Claus was there to welcome ten different East Bay charitable organizations, which received $2000 each. Everyone was then treated to a breakfast and some time with Santa.

The Knights of the Dublin Council were able to raise $20,000 through safe-and-sane July 4 fireworks booths, crab feeds, kettle corn booths at Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration, and several other community events.

Several groups were nominated, but members voted for the following 10 organizations:

The Knights of Columbus are an international Catholic service organization founded in 1882, focused on the four core principles of unity, charity, fraternity, and patriotism. The Dublin Council was chartered 100 years later in 1982. In addition to the $20,000 donated to the above organizations, the Dublin Council donated $44,000 to other causes in 2024.
