According to longtime shelter volunteer Christine Franke, Dior was abandoned in an apartment without food or water.

Still, his sweetness has persevered, and Dior is a “mush” who’s “all about the belly rubs,” Franke added.

Shelter staff said he knows his sit command, is treat-motivated, looks at people for approval, and would love a yard to “get his zoomies out.”

Franke said he would thrive in a home as the only pet and has much to offer, including “lots of energy, love, and playfulness.”

“Please bring him home for the holidays,” she said.

Normal adoption hours at the shelter are Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The shelter needs volunteers, especially experienced large dog handlers and staff is happy to train interested dog lovers.

There’s also an abundance of bunnies, kittens, and cats to spend time with too, Franke said.
