Farmers Market Coming Back To New Lenox In Summer 2025: Mayor

NEW LENOX, IL — New Lenox will again have its own farmers market, coming in summer 2025, the Village announced on Tuesday.

Partnering with Chicago Street Markets, the Village will host its New Lenox Farmers Market Thursday evenings throughout the summer, the Village said. The market will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, May through September.

Residents have asked for years if and when New Lenox would bring back a farmers market. One had been held in previous years, but its organizers often struggled to maintain a vendor lineup, Mayor Tim Baldermann said.

“It was held at the same time as many other markets and the organizer couldn’t secure enough vendors,” Baldermann said. ” Thursday nights will be ideal for a number of vendors to participate.”

Applications are currently open for vendors, including farmers, prepared food vendors, artisan crafters, and others. An application can be found online.

“In an effort to add events for our community to enjoy, we are excited to bring a market back to town,” Baldermann said. “Any time our residents and others can gather in the Commons to spend quality time together is a positive for our town.”
