Public Safety Meeting In Hoboken Gets New Date
HOBOKEN, NJ — While Hoboken has not rescheduled its postponed meeting to discuss safety issues in Church Square Park — after an assault took place there on Halloween — they have announced a rescheduling of their periodic community meeting with public officials.
The next Community and Public Safety (CAPS) meeting, scheduled for Nov. 13, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 11, at The Hive, 1000 Park Ave. from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., the city announced Friday.
Residents are invited to meet with representatives of Hoboken Fire, Hoboken Office of Emergency Management, Hoboken Police, Hoboken EMS and Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and the Hoboken Health Division, the city said. Light refreshments will be served.

The other meeting was set to take place last Wednesday, but was postponed following the death of City Council President Jen Giattino.
That meeting had been scheduled after a man named Troy Timberlake, 31, allegedly attacked two strangers at Church Square Park while children played nearby.

Late on Friday, the city’s spokesperson told Patch that this meeting had not yet been rescheduled. Patch will post an update when it is.
Timberlake was charged with aggravated assault, endangering an injured victim, child cruelty, and refusal to submit fingerprinting, police said. He was then taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, police said.
