Brand New Bakery In Park Slope Serves Up Twists On NYC Classics
BROOKLYN, NY — After more than 10 years as a bakery with an online storefront, Little Red Kitchen Bake Shop has officially opened its first-ever brick-and-mortar location in Park Slope.
The bakery, which features a welcoming open-concept kitchen, is owned by Susan Palmer, a lifelong Brooklynite.
The new storefront celebrates classic New York City treats, like black-and-white cookies and soft pretzels, and serves up fresh challah, babka, banana bread, cinnamon rolls and scones daily.

The bakery also has a rotating assortment of cookies, cookie pies, and ‘brookies’: a combination of a brownie and a cookie, Palmer said.
“I’m eager to share my cookies and additional baked goods with the community, and there’s also an excitement of creating new recipes or ideas I wanted to try in the past but knew it wouldn’t ship well,” Palmer, who lives in Bay Ridge, told Patch.

Palmer’s recipes are tried and true — her cookies have earned her the title of Brooklyn Cookie Takedown champion in 2011 and 2012, and her recipe for Molasses Spice Cookies won the 2024 Specialty Food Association Product of the Year.
In keeping with the times, her shop has a wide range of gluten-free and vegan treats and even homemade treats for dogs.
Her ingredients are all organic and non-GMO, and many of her creations are made with Kosher ingredients and practices as well, she said.
“I am so proud to be opening a store in such a beloved Brooklyn neighborhood, one that has played an important role in my life for the last twenty years,” Palmer said.
Little Red Kitchen Bake Shop is located at 603 4th Ave. in Park Slope.
