Employees And Customers Robbed In Brazen Takeover 7-Eleven Robbery
OAK LAWN, IL — A robbery crew suspected of numerous crimes and robberies in the southwest Chicago area and northwest Indiana, are believed to be responsible for a takeover armed robbery Friday morning at the 7-Eleven store across the street from Christ Hospital, Oak Lawn police said.
Just after 7 a.m., police responded to an armed robbery that had just occurred at 7-Eleven, 4501 W. 95th St. Police said five, armed, masked male blacks held the cashier and customers at gunpoint and ordered them to the floor. The crew proceeded to rob the store and customers of cash before fleeing, according to the preliminary investigation.
One of the crew tried to steal a customer’s vehicle parked in the store’s parking lot, but was unsuccessful. Police said the five were last seen fleeing north on Kilbourn Avenue in a dark gray Jeep Cherokee, with a temporary Illinois tag, 163AC317.

Oak Lawn paramedics were called to the scene to check an elderly customer who was shaken up by the brazen act. The customer did not require hospitalization.
A customer told Patch in an email that he was inside the 7-Eleven during the robbery.

“The gunmen took cash and cell phones from everyone,” he said. “No one was hurt.”
