Bobblehead Museum Celebrates 'Triumphant Return' Of Cicada
ILLINOIS — Though summer is finally here, many of the visiting cicadas are not quite ready to say goodbye to spring, continuing to create a buzz throughout the state. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, located in Milwaukee, announced Friday it is producing the first-ever cicada bobblehead.
“We’re excited to create this bobblehead celebrating the triumphant return of the cicada,” Phil Sklar, National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO, tells Patch. “The sounds of summer have taken on a new meaning in 2024 with the arrival of the popular insects. This bobblehead is a must-have for cicada lovers everywhere.”
The bobbleheads, which cost $30 (plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order), will ship out in November, according to Sklar. The bobbleheads, which will be individually numbered, are only available through the museum’s online store.

The cicada bobbleheads are positioned on a base bearing their name across the front, with a grass-like texture on top. The bobbleheads feature the cicada’s prominent red eyes set wide apart, short antennae, and membranous wings. The bobbleheads are approximately 5.5 inches long by 3 inches tall, according to Sklar.
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum opened in February 2019. The HOF and Museum also produce high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals and teams across the country. Check out the museum online and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
