A new Shorewood carryout restaurant, Carson’s Corner Pizzeria opened in March 2021 along Route 59 inside the former Louie’s Pizza restaurant, 716 Cottage St.
Carson’s Corner is attached to the Bull Pen Sports Bar.
In June 2021, Patch profiled Carson’s Corner’s signature sandwich, the Italian breaded steak sandwich, which had been drawing customers from as far away as Dwight.
The Italian breaded steak sandwich has been the biggest crowd favorite, according to Carson’s owner Michael Antonson. He ran Carson’s along with his wife, Maria, and their daughter, Allison.
“I grew up cooking at Tony’s Italian Beef in Chicago, at 70th and Pulaski,” Michael Antonson told Joliet Patch during a 2021 interview.
