Ahilly's Ice Cream Brings Refreshing Hispanic Treats To Clearwater
CLEARWATER, FL — Just in time for summer, Ahilly’s Ice Cream has opened at 1464 Gulf-t0-Bay Blvd., Clearwater.

The new ice cream shop serves Helados Mexican, paletas, frutas , esquites, aguas frescas, mangonadas, tepache, Gansito waffle ice cream, whipped iced coffee and milkshakes like the Gansito milkshake with fresas con crema.
For those who aren’t familiar with these south-of-the-border cool taste sensations, the tepache is a refreshing, slightly fermented drink made from pineapple peels and brown sugar.

Helados Mexico are all-natural, real fruit traditional Mexican cream ice cream bars that come in flavors like strawberry, coconut and mango.
Gansito is a Mexican snack cake, described as “a strawberry-flavored jelly and crème-filled cake with chocolate-flavored coating.

In Latin American culture, paletas, which mean “little stick” in Spanish, are frozen creations made from a variety of fresh ingredients which often include fruits like mangoes or cucumbers, edible flowers such as hibiscus, and spices like cinnamon or chili pepper. Sometimes Mexican-style paletas are also dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with chopped nuts.
